“Become one of those relentless souls, who refuse to let you fall, refuse to let you go.”
Country singer Brad Paisley wrote the theme song for the movie “Same Kind of Different As Me,” and it became an instant hit because it talked about people who refuse to let you go when you’re suffering and need help … regardless of the challenges. In our grieving, we all need people like that to befriend us, and equally important, we need to pass along the favor and fulfill that role for others who are suffering.
Hear Brad Paisley sing “Stubborn Angels.”

Stubborn Angels
By Brad Paisley
Empty bottles,
A cardboard box,
These shattered dreams,
This littered street, this broken block
Is heavy on your heart,
But one thing is clear,
You wanna save the world,
You oughta start here.
You’ve come a long way,
Yeah, you’ve been blessed,
Such a long way, now go the rest.
The tattered wings of stubborn angels
Have flown you here,
Now turn the tables,
Become one of those relentless souls
Who refuse to let you fall,
Refuse to let you go
Come on, you know you were never gonna make it through
When everybody else gave up on you.
They walked you through the fires of hell,
Now you be someone else’s stubborn angel.
Think about all the times
You were a cause lost,
A bad bet, full of regret, a long shot.
Yeah, you can talk the talk, and that’s just fine,
But now you need to walk the walk
And maybe run a few stop signs.
Because tattered wings of stubborn angels
Have flown you here,
Now turn the tables.
Become one of those relentless souls,
Who refuse to let you fall
Refuse to let you go.
Come on, you know you were never gonna make it through
When everybody else gave up on you,
They walked you through the fires of hell,
Now you be someone else’s stubborn angel.
What are you waiting for? (What are you waiting for?)
You wanna fix this place,
Turn the tables.
This world could use some more
Stubborn angels,
The kind that saw you through
When everybody else gave up on you,
They walked you through the fires of hell,
Now you be someone else’s stubborn angel.
Stubborn angels
Have flown you here
Now turn the tables
Become one of those relentless souls
Who refuse to let you fall
Refuse to let you go
Turn the tables
This world could use some more
Stubborn angels
