Cynthia’s father died while she was pregnant with her son, and the loss was painful for many reasons. When she gave birth, she realized that her father would never see his grandson, and her son would never get to learn from the wisdom of her father. So many family stories and so many experiences that could have been shared if he had been around while her son was growing up. And it came to pass that one life left this world while another one was entering.

“Her mother had suffered a similar loss when she was a child. Her mother had died.

After my life experience about my grandmother, I made sure that I shared a lot about my father with my sons so that he would be a reality to them,” she said. “I never stopped thinking how much they would have enjoyed each other, though. It was so sad.”

And then, her first husband, who was the father of her boys, died while her daughter-in-law was pregnant with his grandson. He passed only a week before the boy’s birth. Throughout her life, she has made it her mission to tell the younger members of the family all about those who went before them. She shows them pictures and shares stories, bringing to life relatives they never knew and will only get to meet when they’re all reunited in the heavenly banquet. And because of her sharing, they will know all about one another, even before their meeting.
