“Every holy hour we spend before the Blessed Sacrament so pleases the Heart of Jesus that it will be recorded in Heaven and retold for all eternity. It opens up the floodgates of God’s merciful Love upon the world. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is the best time you will spend on Earth.”
— St. Teresa of Calcutta

From the time she was a little girl, Robyn went with her mother and siblings to Eucharistic Adoration at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury.

Eucharist“Starting with Mass with my family, the love for the Eucharist was instilled in me during childhood and into adulthood,” she said in an interview with Fairfield County Catholic. “The Eucharist is the center. St. Francis says it is the pouring out of our God. That our all-powerful God would hide himself under an ordinary piece of bread shows his humility.”

When she looks back on her life, she realizes that all along the way, God was directing her to the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. Last May on Holy Trinity Sunday, Sr. Mary Mercy Lee FSE professed perpetual vows as a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist and currently is assigned to the Rome Center at the Vatican.
Quoting the foundress of her community, Mother Rosemae Pender, Sister said: “‘You could be distracted at adoration and even fall asleep but just like when you’re at the beach, the sun still gets you. Being in the presence of the Eucharist changes you.’ How amazing is that? Regardless of where you are in your spiritual life, being in the presence of the Eucharist, we are changed. We are affected.”

This year, commit to spending time before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. It will change you, it will change your life. There is no greater force for love and healing than the Eucharistic Jesus. And when you get there, say this prayer:

Prayer Before The Eucharist

Oh my Jesus, before You I proclaim that You are the real, true, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of my Lord Jesus Christ. I love, adore, praise, trust, need and thank You. I can do nothing without You. I, who am a sinner, beg for Your mercy. All that I ask is to be given, all the love, grace and virtue required to do the will of the Father this day.

Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
