The following prayers come from the writings of Fernanda Moreira, who began a worldwide ministry of prayer for the dying. The prayers, offered in gratitude for Jesus’ sacrifice, are taken from the books, “The Way of the Cross” and “The Hidden Sufferings of Christ,” which are published by the Apostolate for the Dying.

The Gratitude Prayer
Our Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died to save us from
the fires of hell. For such an amazing gift, He only desires
our love, appreciation and gratitude.
Let us pray
We thank You, beloved Savior, for Your great suffering
on the way to Calvary. We honor each and every drop
of Your Most Precious Blood, shed with so much pain and
infinite love for us. We offer this price of our redemption
to the Heavenly Father for our salvation, those of
the whole world, and especially those who are dying.
Amen.

Abba Father
Eternal Father, we adore You and we thank You
for Your infinite mercy and wonderful love.
We thank You for the gift of Your Divine Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.
By the merits of His hidden sufferings and
His Most Precious Blood, heal the hidden
sufferings of our sinful hearts.
May our Sorrowful Mother, who carried His sufferings
in her Immaculate Heart, intercede for us.
May the Holy Spirit inflame our hearts with true love
and gratitude for our most loving Savior,
who suffered and died for our salvation.
May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus grant pardon
and mercy to the dying and to all humanity.
