The following is a note from Ms. Ann, who has a message for us all.

Energizer bunny“When my son Mark died, Michael came over and cleaned out the basement, and he took two loads to the dump. No more bowling balls, no more golf clubs, no more old sewing machines. When it came time to throw out my crock pots — four of them — I said, “No, wait. I may get married again someday and will need them.” He replied, “If you get married again, he can take you out to dinner.”

Then, the garage. No more tools. I only have an ironing board in my basement, but I am not allowed to go up or down the stairs, so now I iron on the kitchen counter.

I got my driver’s license for two more years as of March 1, when I turned 98, and like the Eveready Bunny, I am still sticking with heart medication….See you around, or I hope to see you in Heaven, which will be a long wait, as we are not ready. If you want to read a nice poem, go online and read “Good Morning God.” This poem was my husband Clete’s favorite, and it is still on the bedroom mirror, all yellow, but it still works.  Love, Ms. Ann”

Good Morning, God

By Geneva I. Marley
You’re ushering in another day
Untouched and freshly new.
Here I am to ask you, God,
If you’ll renew me too.
Forgive my many errors,
Which I made yesterday.
Just let me try again, “Dear God,”
To walk closer in thy way.
For Father, I am well aware
I can’t make it on my own.
Please take my hand and hold it tight
As I can’t walk alone.
